I'm not gonna go on and on about how my tryptophan dealer is the best in the city, or how no matter how long you brine a turkey it still tastes like shit. I'm not gonna do that. It's just a show. So I just found out our band has a twitter acount! So sool, dudez! Lots of lolz and roflz and fartz! I'll be tweeting the latest celeb news (ex. Oh, hello. You're looking well. Me? Well, obviously I'm doing awesome. By "I'm" I mean "we'm" and by "awesome" I mean "we haven't played a show or even talked to each other in a loooong time." So yeah, we're "awesome."

BUT GUESS WHAT? WE'RE BACK! (youth of today riff plays)

And by "back" I mean we have a new guitar player (Dan Mitha R.I.P.) named "Randy" Andy Reuland. He plays in another band you may have heard of called Les Savy Fav. Heard of 'em much? Huh? No? Way to listen, no-ears. They are supes fame (for the adults that means "Super famous"). He's old and angry which is all we really require for a Bullshit slot, but thankfully he also plays an instrument....very well. In fact, that almost disqualified him (Dan Mitha R.I.P.).

Also we have tye-dye violent bullshirts. They are amazing and mainly for adults with jobs or dads and moms that don't want to embarrass their children. But if you want want one too, fine.

Finally WE ARE PLAYING AN AMAZING COMEBACK SHOW!!

It's at Union Pool (duh.), and it's gonna be siiiiick (for adults that means "good" or "great").

March 25th w/Open Ocean and Bubbles. J Penry "curated" it (ew). He and I will also be spinning party jams after the show (kewl).

So after years of trying to describe this to friends-a genius at More Than A Witness digitized it and put it on his site. So the basic set-up is that Sam from Evac Records, Charles Maggio from Rorschach/Gern Blandstein, Sam and Adam from Born Against had a "debate" on the radio against Pete from SOIA and Steve from InEffect Records. What you get is a whole lot of hardcore hilarity.

Highlights are:

1. Born Against bringing notes and still not having an easy time articulating their issues beyond "the lyric sheets are censored."

2. A heated exchange about home taping. It's the free download of the 80's!

3. Finally everyone agrees that violence should not be a part of the scene right before Pete Koller punches someone in the face. Way to punch Pete! Just remember we can't punch our pain away, OK friend?

It's easy to be totally dismissive of Born Against here because they sound like babies who don't understand how words work, but they were young and idealistic about the genre. Their world was abcnorio and 'zines whereas SOIA and Agnostic Front were tired of getting in tons of hammer-fights and each had like a thousand kids or something. SOIA needs to feed their babies Born Against! Plus how is a kid from Missouri gonna know when clobberin' time is if they can't get the record at their local Coconuts? These are all tough questions that we has hardcore professionals still deal with everyday.

I don't know who Pete punched, but I hope it was Adam- he was soooo annoying, you guys.

At my good friend Lauren's birthday party last year I spent some time with the above gentleman who told me of his upcoming appearance on Jeopardy and his desire to write his name in the shape of a penis but was having little to no luck in the design. My reply was, "Oh you are in good hands my friend as I have a very keen ability to turn almost anything into a penis." And turn it I did. My bar napkin sketch made it on national TV and prouder I could not be. Guess what folks, he took this concept and ran with it. He basically became a professor of amazing hilarity at Super Funny University when he was announced as a "self proclaimed gadabout" wore an ascot and kept winking at the camera. What Have You Done For Me Lately?

Ok you guys, I know what you're going to say. It's been a long time since I blogged and rolled or whatever but listen I can't force magic to happen. Magic is as magic does and so on and so forth. I just try and capture that magic in a bottle and then drink it down and let it pour through my fingers for my loyal fans. The thing is Magic doesn't come around as much anymore and when he does he usually just needs money. These are tough times for everybody so don't judge Magic too harshly, plus he has AIDS. BOOM! Nailed it! Ugh...see what I mean? This blogging thing just isn't working out for me lately.

Here's what's been happening. We've played a few shows that have been fairly demoralizing. For example we played for free at the really lovely Music Hall of Williamsburg with our good buds Love as Laughter. As you can see above they misspelled our name on the marquee to make us sound homophobic or like a shitty 90's band (same thing) and then pointed to the sign below and sent us around the back (although Dils didn't see the sign and went through he front door making him basically the Rosa Parks of hippies.) This whole event sent the entire band into a deep drug bender shame spiral which lasted through the entire week to our next show at the decidedly unlovely Don Pedro's where we truly fell apart and Dan Mitha went missing for 3 days. We finally found him passed out in front of an abandoned Wu- Wear store in Staten Island. The whole thing was a mess...we need to regroup people and regroup we will!

We are getting back on the excellence horse this Thursday with forever buds Children at Glasslands for FREE! Colt 45 you fucking idiots.

Also we are saving up our wisecracks for the FEAR show next week. Oh brother is that ever gonna be ridiculous. I know saying that we are excited to play with FEAR basically a headline of "No Shit Magazine," but oh my blog you guys -it's sooo awesome!

The show was fun. Can you tell? I mean these photos don't make it totally clear, but believe me when I tell you-we were sick. So sick in fact we made $40 bucks! And got 2 free drinks!! Momma, your baby boy has finally made it.

We debuted some new material : "Hey, Seattle Fuck Off," "Read and Write," and "My Band Just Doesn't Understand Me." All A+ except Seattle gets an A- cause some girl punched me and I couldn't sing for a second. Sheesh. Women. Am I right guys?

Midnite Till Death put a lot of effort into making this a fun night. They projected scenes from "Street Trash" and "Deadbeat At Dawn"-awesome...They also DJ'ed and threw T-shirts at people. Basically, if you missed this - ya blew it. We love you, but you blew it.

What can we say? Vibrant Bullshit 3 was a suckcess. I can't believe any bar would let us play these records all night long. It was beautiful and snowy and there was nothing more amazing than watching a bunch of dudes stand around the DJ booth going "That song is sick" and "I've got that on clear vinyl." I can't lie, it made me happy. I'm thinking about implementing a trivia section since that's what it kinda turns into anyway.

We had special guests Sam Tobin (who fucking opened with "Keepin' it Real!" Ballsy.) and J. Penry (all 7"'s!) and Dils and I held down the Bullshit side. I don't have any good pictures of Dils because I was too busy freaking out on every song he played. Beyond? Yes please. Citizen's Arrest? Don't mind if I do. Fine work all around. In the words of Crippled Youth, "It's a positive positive positive scene."

Shrieker "Behead The Heads of State" and Ghriskanopf "Unfortunate Nightvisions"

It was impossible to choose between the amazingly authentic thrash throwback of Shrieker, and the super dark black metal of Ghriskanopf so I chose them both.

Best Shrieker Track: "Let's Hear it For Beer!"

Best Ghriskanopf track: duh, the only one on the record "Noisesome Ash Crown" 35 minutes of pure hate!

It's been a while since the boys at Righteous Grooves have released such a perfect club track. While the original bangs- the vocal track brings it down a bit and that's why I chose VonStich's masterful remix.

Hands down the most consistent MC in the game, Boozie Wyde has flattened the competition again with Vol. 3 of Doin' Thangs. With the Nevada hip-hop scene getting so much media attention it's hard to imagine that Boozie isn't next up to bat.

The Albert and Costello of DJ'ing (that's us again-ugh this is getting exhausting) will be working for you filthy animals all night on New Year's Eve this year at Enid's. Trust me when I say it's work-cause we all know it's amateur hour on NYE and we, as seasoned pros of partying, have been asked to try to bring down your flaming plane of an evening as softly as possible. So stop pretending that you are going to "do something really great this year" and just show up at the bar you know you'll end up at anyway. So after a long screaming match about "supporting the scene" Tedward has finally agreed to have Violent Bullshit as a guest on his award winning radio show Gay Beach. There was some controversy about the name and wether is celebrates homosexuality or is pulling the gays proverbial "legs." Well, I did some investigation and it is clear that Tedward is just embracing and celebrating his sexuality. Happier about this we Bullshitters could not be. How bad would it be if we had to call him "CloseTedward?"

Just got home from the Carcass reunion show and gee whiz was it something else. Six bands in about 7 hours. Fuck, death metal, gimmie a break already! Carcass, Suffocation, Necrophagist, 1349, Aborted, and Rotten Sound. Did I get there early like a total d-bag? Yep. Was I soaking wet from waiting in line in the rain? You bet.

So first some advice. If you are considering buying an Aborted record, you can pretty much skip it. Bummer City. But, if you are into to awesome bands who shred super hard, why not run over to Coconuts and pick up the 1349 and Necrophagist records. Suffocation was pretty sweet too even though t he singer looked like he was in the UFC and kept saying weird stuff like "This song is pretty much all about killing." Pretty much? What is the rest of it about? He also said he wanted to bathe in his manager's entrails, and that was meant to be a compliment.

Carcass were, of course, amazing. I was psyched that they played my fav track off "Swan Song" which I know is a poser record, but what the f? I like what I like. The most brutal part of the night-when the original drummer (who went from brain dead to comatose) joined the band for a drum solo.

I have spent a few late nights with our drummer, Dils, watching this video over and over again. The whole thing is amazing- keep your eyes peeled for Vinnie Stigma trying to rationalize Agnostic Front lyrics (hi-lar-ious), and how cute Jimmy Gestapo is (awwww). Name as many hardcore luminaries in the audience as you can! It's as fun as it is sad! One day these brains of ours will be full of something useful....one day.

Went to see Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell (sabbath w/ Dio), Motorhead, and Testament on Sunday with Penry and the WOWCH brothers and oh man was it ever good. Here's the run down:

1. Motorhead- Sorry Lemmy, every song sounds exactly the same- good thing that one song fucking rips!

2. Heaven & Hell - I'm shocked that people still dislike the Dio era Sabbath. Those records are great and he still sounds AMAZING! Only downside to their set is that Dio took away the crowds beach balls like an angry old lady, they didn't play Neon Knights, and Dio looks exactly like my friend Eric's Mom.

3. Judas Priest- So, so good. Even though they opened with Nostradamus off their new record and their stage set up look like Insane Clown Posse set pieces covered in tribal tattoos they still sounded great. Halford rode out on a motorcycle for the encore! But sadly no "Ripper."

4. It cost $10.

5. No Beer. How is that legal?

6. We were so inspired we started a band at the venue. It's called Dame Judy Dench (The Band). I let you know when I figure out how to play drums- I guess waving the sticks around in the air isn't "proper playing." We've got a 5" coming out on Slap-a-Ham in October.
